Cardocrat started from a simple frustration: nearly every "best credit card" list online is sorted by who pays the website, not by what is actually best for the reader. We built the opposite of that.
Our mission. Help everyday people earn more on the money they already spend, without the marketing spin. We rank every major card by the real dollars it returns for how you actually live, value points honestly, and show our work. If a card is not worth its fee, we will tell you, even if it pays us.
How we make money, and why it does not bend our rankings
Cardocrat is free because we may earn a commission when you are approved for some cards through our links. That is a common model, and on most sites it quietly decides which cards get pushed. We draw a hard line: compensation never affects a card's rank or score. Our calculator ranks cards we earn nothing from, and it will place a card we have no relationship with above one we do whenever your numbers say so. The ranking engine does not even know which cards are affiliated. Read the full methodology to see exactly how the math works.
What you can hold us to
Honest point values. Every point and mile is counted at a conservative 1 cent, so no card is inflated by optimistic travel valuations.
No fantasy bonuses. A welcome bonus only counts when your real spending would actually earn it.
Net of fees. Annual fees are subtracted, so what you see is true value, not gross rewards.
We separate facts from perks. Earn rates and fees are measured. Lifestyle benefits like lounge access and credits are listed separately so you decide what they are worth to you.
We correct mistakes. If we get something wrong, we fix it and we want to hear about it.
The people behind Cardocrat
Cardocrat was founded by Bryce Casson, a credit card rewards enthusiast who spent years optimizing points and miles in the real world and grew tired of "best card" lists that were really just ranked by advertising payouts. He built Cardocrat to be the tool he always wanted: one that ranks every card by what it actually returns to you, with honest valuations and no partner bias.
