Chasing the sign-up bonus and open to canceling before the second annual fee? Take the Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business℠. Planning to keep it for years? The Citi Strata Premier℠ pulls ahead.

Perks, credits, and redemptions
| Perks | Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ | Citi Strata Premier℠ |
|---|---|---|
| Lounge access | Yes — Priority Pass, Sapphire Lounges | None |
| Annual credits | ~$400/yr (2 credits) | None |
| Points & redemptions | Transferable to airline & hotel partners | Transferable to airline & hotel partners |
On perks and redemptions, only the Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ gets you into airport lounges; the Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ carries the heavier credit stack (about $400 a year). Weigh those against the fee, since credits and lounge access only count if you will actually use them.
Transfer partners and point value
The Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ earns Chase Ultimate Rewards, which transfers to World of Hyatt, United, Air Canada, Southwest, and British Airways Avios. The Citi Strata Premier℠ earns Citi ThankYou, reaching American Airlines, Turkish, Avianca, and Air France-KLM. Most transfers are 1:1 on both, so the partners themselves, not the ratios, are what separate them.
The standout difference is the crown-jewel partner: for the Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ it is World of Hyatt at 1:1, widely considered the single best hotel transfer in points; for the Citi Strata Premier℠ it is American Airlines AAdvantage at 1:1, one of the only ways to transfer points to AA. Pick the program whose best partners match the trips you would actually book.
Both earn transferable points, but they sit at very different price and use points. The Reserve for Business is a premium card for companies that spend big on travel and advertising; the Strata Premier is a versatile personal card that rewards everyday categories cheaply.
The Reserve Business shines on volume, 8x Chase Travel, lounge access, a giant welcome bonus, if you can feed it. The Strata Premier spreads 3x across the categories most people actually spend in and transfers to Citi’s airline partners, all for $95. It’s premium-business firepower vs affordable, broad, personal value.

Where each one wins
| Category | Winner | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Travel earning | Reserve Business | 8x Chase Travel vs the Premier’s 3x. |
| Everyday breadth | Strata Premier | 3x across six common categories the Reserve mostly earns 1x on. |
| Annual fee | Strata Premier | $95 vs $795. |
| Lounge access | Reserve Business | Included; the Premier has none. |
| Who can get it | Strata Premier | Any good-credit personal applicant; the Reserve needs a business. |
| Transfer partners | Split | Chase’s Hyatt/United vs Citi’s broad airline list. |
The verdict
If you run a business with large travel and advertising budgets and will use lounges, the Reserve for Business can be exceptional, 8x on Chase Travel and 3x on ad platforms, plus lounge access and a massive bonus, generate value most cards can’t touch. But it’s built for volume; without it, the $795 fee is hard to recover.
For almost everyone else, the Strata Premier is the smarter card, its 3x on restaurants, supermarkets, gas, air, hotels, and EV charging covers where real budgets go, its ThankYou points transfer for outsized travel value, and it costs $95 with no business required. Unless you can genuinely feed the Reserve’s premium categories, the Strata Premier delivers more usable value per dollar of fee.
