ANA Mileage Club Devaluation History

The short answer: ANA Mileage Club was a model of stability for over a decade, then devalued twice in quick succession: an April 2024 partner-chart increase of about 33 percent and a June 2025 own-metal hike of 50 percent on premium cabins, which also ended round-the-world awards. ANA at least added one-way bookings, but its famous low pricing took a real hit.

A decade of stability, then two cuts

ANA Mileage Club held its award pricing steady for more than ten years, which made it a favorite for low-cost premium travel to Asia. That ended in 2024. On April 18, 2024, ANA raised Star Alliance partner awards, with US to Japan business class going from 90,000 to 120,000 miles, a 33 percent increase, though ANA gave advance notice so members could book at the old rates. See ANA guide.

The June 2025 devaluation

A bigger change followed on June 24, 2025, hitting ANA own flights. High-season round-trip business class to and from Japan rose from 110,000 to 165,000 miles, and first class from 200,000 to 300,000, both a 50 percent jump. ANA also stopped offering round-the-world award tickets, removing a beloved redemption. The one silver lining was the addition of one-way awards, which ANA had never offered. See award charts.

Where value remains

ANA still uses a chart, and its premium cabins, The Suite and The Room, remain superb, so the program is useful, just no longer the steal it was. The famous Virgin Atlantic sweet spot for ANA flights is now often a better route than ANA own miles for US travelers. Book when you find value and do not assume ANA pricing will hold, given two devaluations in 14 months. See ANA First guide and the devaluation overview.

Frequently asked questions

Did ANA Mileage Club devalue?
Yes, twice in 14 months after a decade of stability. April 2024 raised partner awards about 33 percent, and June 2025 raised ANA own premium cabins by 50 percent while ending round-the-world awards.
What changed for ANA in June 2025?
High-season round-trip business class to and from Japan rose from 110,000 to 165,000 miles and first class from 200,000 to 300,000, both 50 percent. ANA also ended round-the-world awards but added one-way bookings for the first time.

No. ANA stopped offering round-the-world award tickets as of June 24, 2025. In exchange, it added one-way award bookings, which it had never previously allowed.
