Capital One Venture X Business Review
Overview
The Capital One Venture X Business is the business version of the excellent Venture X: 2x miles on everything, lounge access, annual credits, and transferable Capital One miles, for a $395 fee. Like the personal card, credits help offset the fee, making it a strong-value premium business card.
The one caveat is a large welcome-spend requirement, so it is aimed at businesses with real spending volume, but for those, it is one of the best premium business cards out there.
Think twice if: your business spends modestly, since the large welcome-spend requirement needs real volume.
Our 4.0 out of 5 rating
Each score weighs the rewards rate, value after the annual fee, welcome offer, points flexibility, and perks, with every point valued at a flat 1 cent. This is our editorial assessment to help you compare cards, not a guarantee of approval or of the value you will get.
Rewards: how it earns
You earn 2x miles on everything, with elevated rates on travel booked through Capital One, all in transferable miles. The simplicity is the appeal, a flat 2x floor on all business spending, with points that transfer to airline and hotel partners. No categories to track.
| Category | Rate | Notes |

| Dining and restaurants | 2% back | Base rate |
| Groceries | 2% back | Base rate |

Brand and bonus rates: beyond the everyday categories above, this card also earns:
- 10x miles on hotels and rental cars via Capital One Travel
- 5x miles on flights via Capital One Travel
Every point and mile above is valued at a flat 1 cent, the same honest standard we use for every card. Run your own spending through the calculator to see what this card would actually return for you.
Pros and cons
- 2x transferable miles on everything
- Lounge access and annual credits offset the fee
- Huge 150,000-mile welcome bonus
- Large $30,000 welcome-spend requirement
- Counts toward Chase 5/24, unlike most business cards
- $395 fee up front
The welcome bonus
The welcome bonus is huge: 150,000 miles after $30,000 in three months, worth over $1,500 and more through transfers. Enormous, but it takes serious spending to unlock.
Is it worth the annual fee?
The $395 fee is offset by annual credits and lounge access, so the effective cost is lower than it looks for a business that travels. Note that Capital One business cards do report to the personal credit bureaus and count toward Chase 5/24, unlike most business cards, so factor that into your application strategy.
First-year value vs ongoing value
| Welcome bonus | 150,000 Miles |
| To earn it | $30,000 in 3 months |
| Est. first-year value* | $2,525 |
| Est. ongoing value / yr* | $1,025 |
The welcome bonus makes year one the high point: roughly $2,525 in value once you count the bonus, this card’s rewards, and its credits, minus the $395 fee. After that, the honest figure is about $1,025 a year, so judge whether it earns its keep on the ongoing number, not the first-year headline.
*First-year value counts the welcome bonus, estimated rewards, and annual credits, minus the annual fee; ongoing value is a typical year after. Every point at a flat 1 cent, on average spending.

Ecosystem and transfer partners
The Capital One Venture X Business earns Miles, one of the more valuable currencies in rewards because of where the points can go. You can move points 1 to 1 to 7 airline and hotel partners: Air Canada Aeroplan, Turkish Miles & Smiles, Avianca LifeMiles, Flying Blue (Air France/KLM), Singapore Airlines, British Airways, and Wyndham Rewards. As a hub card, this is the one you route points through before transferring out. The sweet spots are usually premium-cabin flights and high-end hotel nights, where a single point can be worth well more than the 1 cent we value it at here.

If your business has real spending and you want premium travel perks with simple 2x earning and transferable miles, the Venture X Business is a top-tier choice, the credits offset much of the fee.
If your spending is modest, the large welcome-spend requirement is a hurdle, and a cheaper business card may fit better. But for higher-volume businesses, this is excellent.
