Best Ways to Use Hilton Honors Points
Earn a lot, redeem at the top
Hilton points are worth less per point than most currencies, but Hilton hands them out generously through stays, its cards, and bonuses, so you accumulate large balances. The way to win is to redeem those big balances at properties where the cash rate is sky-high, especially aspirational resorts (overwater villas and the like), where even half-a-cent points add up to outsized value. See the Hilton Honors guide.
Use the perks
Hilton has no award chart and prices dynamically, but elite members (including via Hilton cards) get the fifth night free on award stays, and Hilton waives resort fees on award nights, which boosts value at resorts. Points-and-money awards let you stretch a balance and are sometimes good value, so compare them to all-points.
How to decide
Do not measure Hilton points against a 1-cent yardstick; measure the redemption against the cash rate. A resort night at a huge cash price can be a great points deal even at low per-point value. Save big balances for high-rate stays rather than burning them on cheap rooms. See how to book a hotel with points.
