Rakuten + Bilt: Earn Bilt Points From Online Shopping
How the partnership works
You can route Rakuten shopping earnings into Bilt points, shopping either inside the Bilt app or through the normal Rakuten site, app, or browser extension. Your Rakuten cash back automatically converts to Bilt points and deposits with the quarterly payout, turning everyday online shopping into transferable Bilt points on top of your card rewards.
Mind the tier-based rate
The conversion rate depends on your Bilt membership tier. Elite tiers (Silver, Gold, Platinum) earn the full rate of about 100 Bilt points per $1 of cash back, but non-elite Bilt Blue members earn roughly half (about 50 points per $1). So if you do not have Bilt status, the Bilt conversion may be worse than just taking Rakuten cash or, on an Amex, Membership Rewards points. Check your tier and the current rate before choosing.
When to use it
Bilt points are valuable because they transfer to airline and hotel partners, so for elite Bilt members the full-rate conversion is a strong way to earn transferable points from shopping.
