Our review
The RCI Elite Rewards World Mastercard is the rare timeshare card that is genuinely useful outside the timeshare. It earns 5 points per dollar on RCI purchases, 2 points on travel, rideshare, gas, and EV charging, and 1 point everywhere else, and those points redeem for cash back at a penny each with a 5% rebate on every redemption.
Add a $250 vacation credit each year you spend $10,000, no foreign transaction fees, and no annual fee, and it is a solid card for RCI members and a decent one for anyone who drives and travels a lot.
Think twice if: you do not use RCI and spend mostly on groceries and dining, where other no-fee cards earn more.
Our 7.0 out of 10 rating
Each score weighs the rewards rate, value after the annual fee, welcome offer, points flexibility, and perks, with every point valued at a flat 1 cent. This is our editorial assessment to help you compare cards, not a guarantee of approval or of the value you will get.

Rewards: how it earns
You earn 5 points per dollar on eligible RCI purchases, 2 points on travel, rideshare, gas, and EV charging, and 1 point everywhere else. Points redeem for cash back, statement credits, travel, gift cards, or RCI Member Rewards at 1 cent each, and every redemption returns 5% of the points, which nudges the effective rate a little higher. Spend $10,000 in a calendar year and you get a $250 vacation credit.
| Category | Rate | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Gas | 2x | Bonus category |
| Travel | 2x | Bonus category |
| Transit and rideshare | 2x | Bonus category |
| Dining and restaurants | 1x | Base rate |
| Groceries | 1x | Base rate |
| Streaming | 1x | Base rate |
| Everything else | 1x | Everything else |
The fine print on rates: Points redeem for cash back, statement credits, travel, gift cards, or RCI Member Rewards at 1 cent each, and every redemption returns 5% of the points as a bonus. That makes this one of the few timeshare-brand cards whose rewards are worth something outside the brand.
Every point and mile above is valued at a flat 1 cent, the same honest standard we use for every card. Run your own spending through the calculator to see what this card would actually return for you.
Best ways to earn & redeem
Put your gas, travel, and transit and rideshare spending on this card to earn at its highest rates, and let a different card handle the categories it does not bonus. Its gas rate is on the modest side for that category, so compare before you commit.
When you cash in, take the rewards as cash back or a statement credit, worth a flat 1 cent each. We value every point at a flat 1 cent, so treat any transfer upside as a bonus rather than the baseline — see what your points are really worth.
Pros and cons
- 5x on RCI purchases
- 2x on travel, rideshare, gas, and EV charging
- Cash-back redemptions with a 5% rebate
- No annual fee and no foreign transaction fees
- Only 1x on dining and groceries
- Small welcome bonus
- Vacation credit requires $10,000 a year
The welcome bonus
New cardholders earn 5,000 bonus points, worth $50, after their first purchase. It is small but takes no effort.
First-year value vs ongoing value
| Welcome bonus | 5,000 bonus points ($50) |
| To earn it | after your first purchase |
| Est. first-year value* | $388 |
| Est. ongoing value / yr* | $338 |
The welcome bonus makes year one the high point: roughly $388 in value once you count the bonus, this card’s rewards, and its credits, minus the no fee. After that, the honest figure is about $338 a year, so judge whether it earns its keep on the ongoing number, not the first-year headline.
*First-year value counts the welcome bonus, estimated rewards, and annual credits, minus the annual fee; ongoing value is a typical year after. Every point at a flat 1 cent, on average spending.
Benefits and protections
Beyond the rewards, the perks and protections worth knowing about include:
- 5 points per $1 on eligible RCI purchases
- 2 points per $1 on travel, rideshare, gas, and EV charging
- 1 point per $1 everywhere else
- $250 vacation credit each year you spend $10,000
Statement credits
This card does not come with recurring statement credits. Its value is in the rewards rate and welcome offer.
Who should get it, and who should skip it
Get the RCI Elite Rewards card if you are an RCI member. The 5x on RCI fees and the cash-back redemptions make it the obvious card for those bills.
It also works as a no-fee gas and travel card for non-members, but if you spend more on dining and groceries, a card like the FNBO Getaway may fit better.
