Our review

The H.O.G. Elite Visa Signature Card is the premium Harley-Davidson card. It earns 5 points per dollar at Harley-Davidson and gas stations, 2 points at restaurants and hotels, and 1 point everywhere else, and its $99 fee comes with $99 in annual credits.

The credits are a $59 H.O.G. membership credit, a $30 dealership credit, and a $10 SiriusXM credit. If you already renew H.O.G. and visit a dealer, the card is effectively free and earns 5x on gas. If you do not, the fee is real money for points that only work at H-D.

Best for: H.O.G. members who renew every year, shop at H-D dealers, and spend heavily on gas.
Think twice if: you would not use the H.O.G., dealership, and SiriusXM credits, since the fee is only offset if you do.

Rewards: how it earns

You earn 5 points per dollar at Harley-Davidson and gas stations, 2 points at restaurants, bars, hotels, and other lodging, and 1 point everywhere else. H.O.G. members earn 2 points per mile ridden. Points are worth 1 cent each toward Harley-Davidson purchases only (2,500 points for $25). Five points per dollar on gas is the standout for riders who log a lot of miles.

The fine print on rates: Points are worth 1 cent each but only toward Harley-Davidson purchases (2,500 points for $25). The $99 in annual credits offsets the fee only if you renew H.O.G. membership and shop at an H-D dealer.

Every point and mile above is valued at a flat 1 cent, the same honest standard we use for every card. Run your own spending through the calculator to see what this card would actually return for you.

Best ways to earn & redeem

Put your gas, dining, and hotels spending on this card to earn at its highest rates, and let a different card handle the categories it does not bonus. Its gas rate is among the stronger ones you will find in that category.

When you cash in, take the rewards as cash back or a statement credit, worth a flat 1 cent each. We value every point at a flat 1 cent, so treat any transfer upside as a bonus rather than the baseline — see what your points are really worth.

Pros and cons

Pros
  • 5x at Harley-Davidson and gas stations
  • $99 in annual credits offsets the fee
  • 2 points per mile ridden for H.O.G. members
  • $100 at H-D welcome offer
Cons
  • $99 annual fee
  • Points only redeem at Harley-Davidson
  • Credits only help existing H.O.G. members

The welcome bonus

New cardholders get $100 at H-D after spending $500 in the first 90 days.

Is it worth the annual fee?

The $99 annual fee is matched by $99 in annual credits: $59 toward H.O.G. membership, $30 at an H-D dealership, and $10 toward SiriusXM. If you would pay for those anyway, the card costs you nothing.

First-year value vs ongoing value

Welcome bonus$100 at H-D
To earn it$500 in the first 90 days
Est. first-year value*$508
Est. ongoing value / yr*$408

The welcome bonus makes year one the high point: roughly $508 in value once you count the bonus, this card’s rewards, and its credits, minus the $99 fee. After that, the honest figure is about $408 a year, so judge whether it earns its keep on the ongoing number, not the first-year headline.

*First-year value counts the welcome bonus, estimated rewards, and annual credits, minus the annual fee; ongoing value is a typical year after. Every point at a flat 1 cent, on average spending.

Benefits and protections

Beyond the rewards, the perks and protections worth knowing about include:

  • 2 points per $1 at restaurants, bars, hotels, and other lodging

  • $99 annual fee

  • $30 annual Harley-Davidson dealership credit
  • $10 annual SiriusXM subscription credit

Who should get it, and who should skip it
